Images show frontal and side views of the works. Transformative processes are at the center of Ruscha Voormann’s work. At the beginning of her career, she explored the interfaces between figurative and abstract painting. Now she devotes herself exclusively to abstraction, continually developing new techniques with which she tests the fluid transition between conscious, arbitrary control and mere, pure chance. For her unique series Dusk & Dawn, she uses round acrylic discs onto which she first applies acrylic paint and then passes it in circular motions over an Alu Dibond panel. The discs leave traces of paint, but at the same time remain on the painting surface. They lend the works something both object-like and painterly. The original, genuine motifs of the paintings and the methodology of their creation merge with each other. Depending on the angle of view, one or the other comes to the fore.
